From the OKKA Karate lot at 33 South Main Street to the Main Stage at 53, the stretch is short enough to cover between songs. It holds a bakery, a florist's porch, a courtyard with a fire pit, a macaron shop, a dance studio and the compound building at 45 South Main. Between November 14 and December 12, almost every event on Mullica Hill's holiday calendar either starts on this block or depends on it.
The township and the Mullica Hill Business Association have spread the season over four Saturdays. On the published schedules, the two daytime events give 45 South Main as their location, the Christmas House Tour is listed at 41 South Main, and Lights on Main puts its stage at 53. Anyone planning a December around Main Street is really planning around this stretch.
The Bakery That Moved Toward the Events
This fall the clearest sign of the block's pull was a moving truck. Amici Bakery, which owner Alexis Rubino has run since 2017, left its original home at 69 North Main Street for 35 South Main. Harrison Township announced the grand reopening on October 21 for that Saturday, October 24.
The township's feature on the reopening explains the move plainly. The new storefront has more visibility, more space and extra seating, and it puts the bakery "directly along one of the most active stretches of historic Main Street." The township also wrote that with Main Street hosting seasonal celebrations through the year, Amici is now better placed to serve the crowds those events bring.
At the other end of Main Street, the Mullica Hill Business Association reported that Sweets By Abigail Grace, known for custom cookies and cupcakes, opened its first storefront at 69 North Main Street. The soft opening on September 13 sold out, and the grand opening followed on September 19. Main Street went from one bakery to two in a single season, with one at each end of the street.
Amici's first Lights on Main at the new address is already scheduled. The township guide lists free gingerbread cookies at 35 South Main from 5 p.m. on November 28, while supplies last, with everything needed to decorate them.
Who Hosts What on the Block
Amici's new neighbors are the reason the location matters. Here is how the stretch is set up for Lights on Main on November 28, according to Harrison Township's official 2026 guide:
| Address | Business | Lights on Main plan |
|---|---|---|
| 33 S. Main St. | OKKA Karate – Mullica Hill | Hot apple cider, a holiday bounce house, donations for Your Place at the Table |
| 35 S. Main St. | Amici Mullica Hill | Free gingerbread cookies to decorate, from 5 p.m. |
| 36 S. Main St. | Belle and Beau, A Lada Love, KaySavVi Glamour Barn, Kind Hearts and Crafts | Christmas party; kids decorate cards and ornaments for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia |
| 37 S. Main St. | Mullica Hill Floral Co. | Porch photo op, centerpiece raffle, wreaths and evergreen bundles |
| 39 S. Main St. | Sisters & Twin Poppy Supply Co. | Free hot chocolate bar, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. |
| 41 S. Main St. | Farm House Design | Courtyard live music, a fire and hot cocoa |
| 41 S. Main St. | Mademoiselle Macaron | 10-year "Let Them Eat Cake" party |
| 45 S. Main St. | D-signed For You | 10-year "Get Snowed In" celebration with a kids' Snow Day |
| 50 S. Main St. | Fit to Dance Studio | Elf photos and a hot chocolate bar |
| 53 S. Main St. | Main Stage | Live entertainment 5 to 9 p.m.; tree lighting at 7:30 p.m. |
The two anniversaries in that table point to staying power. Mademoiselle Macaron and D-signed For You are each marking 10 years on Main this season, at 41 and 45 South Main. Those two buildings also anchor the daytime calendar.
Four Saturdays, One Starting Point
The rest of the season keeps coming back to the same few addresses.
- Saturday, November 14, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Merry Market. The business association calendar lists the location as 45 South Main Street. About 50 vendors will sell home décor, apparel, candles, jewelry, soaps and specialty foods, and the Touch of Classics Carolers will stroll South Main Street.
- Saturday, November 28, 5 to 9 p.m.: Lights on Main. Mayor Wingate lights the Harrison Township Christmas Tree at 7:30 p.m. The rain date is November 29.
- Saturday, December 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Shop Small & Give Big. Participating Main Street businesses will give part of their sales that day to Your Place at the Table, the local community food pantry. Shoppers can also drop off a non-perishable food item or a new toy for ages 0 to 18 at any participating business. The association lists 45 South Main as the event location.
- Saturday, December 12, 2 to 7 p.m.: the 51st Annual Christmas House Tour. Tickets are $16.30 through the township's event page. The tour covers decorated homes and historic buildings, with live music and refreshments, and is listed at Farm House Design, 41 South Main Street. Part of the proceeds goes to local church food pantries.
Two of the four events raise money for local food pantries. Your Place at the Table also benefits on tree-lighting night through OKKA Karate's cider table, so the same pantry draws support from the block across several Saturdays.
How Lights on Main Spreads Past the Block
Lights on Main is the one night the whole street fills up, and the guide shows how far it reaches beyond South Main's 30s and 40s. At the north end, the live Nativity runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at St. Stephen's, 51 North Main Street, a long-running St. Stephen's tradition, and visitors can step inside the sanctuary. At 7:30 p.m., the Polish American String Band, a Mummers troupe, marches from 29 North Main Street to Old Towne Hall and finishes at the tree.
Closer to the middle of town, Santa's Workshop has a new location this year at 5 South Main Street, with the Elfie Selfie Stop at the same address. The fire station at 4 South Main holds an open house, and The Seeing Eye brings guide-dog puppies there for holiday photos. At 18 South Main, Bella Grace Coffee Café, a bounce house, the 3-in-1 winter game, an ice sculptor from 6 p.m. and hometown band The Company share the space. The Twinkle Holiday Stop pop-up and the horse-drawn carriages are around the corner at 2 Woodstown Road.
Food runs the full length of the street. Food trucks and vendors include Bondie's Concession at 61 South Main, Hardy Funnel Cakes and Bistro Society at 44, Fry, Fry Revolution at 38, South Jersey BBQ Boyz at 30, The Little Sicilian and The Pasta Truck at 29, Botto's and The Traveling Tomato at 18, House of Cupcakes at 9, and Travelin' Tom's Coffee at 4 North Main.
All of that spread comes with logistics. Here is what the township's guide lists for November 28:
- Main Street closes from 4 to 10 p.m. between Mill Road and Commissioners Road, and street parking ends at 3:30 p.m.
- Shuttle buses run north and south from 5 to 9 p.m., serving lots at the Municipal Building, Ella Harris Park on Route 77, McDonald's, the American Legion, Harrison Elementary School and the Amish Market.
- Friends School has public parking without a shuttle.
- Handicap and special parking is at US Construction, 79 South Main Street.
- Restrooms are at the Friends Meeting, 2 Woodstown Road, and in the OKKA parking lot at 33 South Main.
The restroom stop at 33 South Main puts even the basics back on the same block.
December 12 Has Two Draws
The season's last Saturday is the most crowded. The Christmas House Tour runs from 2 to 7 p.m., and Duffield's Farm Market holds its Christmas Village the same day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Duffield's lists a hot chocolate bar, hayrides, food trucks and craft vendors, with Santa photo ops from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Santa meet-and-greets are $8 per family. The farm closes at 4 and the tour runs until 7, so a family can do the farm in the morning and the house tour in the afternoon.
For something quieter around the first Saturday, William Heritage Winery in Mullica Hill has fireside s'mores evenings November 12 through 14, the Thursday through Saturday of Merry Market weekend. Its $15 S'mores Boxes come with wine by the glass available.
One opening is still further off. NJ.com reported in August that the family behind a well-known New Jersey restaurant plans to open Gigio's Mediterranean Bistro in a historic Main Street farmhouse, with a target of fall 2027. For now, the 2026 season belongs to the shops already on the street, and Amici's move puts one more of them on the block where most of it happens.
